Journal Entry: Bushra Lana (Good News)/An Intermediary Phase

Once again, I had an insightful dream in the morning of 4th Shawwal, 1445; a few days after celebrating Eid al-Fitr.

I saw the last moment of my life as I was passing away; I seemed to be bidding farewell to my family. Then, in the dream, I started to see from the point of view perspective. My burial was taking place, and I was being pulled down into my grave. I could see everything getting darker around me as I observed the horizon and the four corners of the ground as I rested six feet deep under. After being covered completely, I felt the contraction of the side walls. I started to feel scared for my experience in Hereafter. However, there after it started to expand and became spacious. The ground to my right starts unveiling from the top to bottom illuminating my grave as it unpacked to a room like environment. There was a man whose face was as clear as crystal with a fair skin tone dressed in all pure white sitting upright against the wall on a couch. His hair was seemingly white and parted from the middle reaching his broad shoulders. Similarly, he had an aura due to his beard that was white as well which made his appearance shine like a pearl. I felt as if he had been waiting for me. He gets up to embrace and welcome me. I asked him if we had met before because he seemed to have a unique appearance yet familiarity with his presence. He told to me that we had met at the plain of the souls (Alam-e-Arwa), and that he has kept watch on me since and was familiar with the tailored trails and tribulations of my life. He assured me to rest with ease and tranquility as the journey from here on now will be smooth. I started to weep out of awe knowing very well of the fact that I didn’t deserve to be given this glad tiding, yet felt a joy never experienced before waking up from the dream.

Now, I only bring this to the attention of others to mention that the struggle to remain sound in one’s faith should be a continuous task, until our very last breath, as believers in the religion of Islam. It may take form as small deeds, if done correctly with consistency, which can allow us to progress spiritually by staying upright. I am nowhere near perfect, nor do I claim to be righteous or pious, but I do make efforts consistently for an inward spiritual growth and outward practice as per the religion of Islam. Yearning to attain proximity of God (عزَّ وجلَّ) and His Beloved (ﷺ) is something I try to sincerely strive for by enacting the way of those [The Prophets, The Truthful, The Martyrs & The Righteous (Allah’s peace and blessings be upon them all)] who had been successful in following the spiritual path that leads straight to God Almighty’s acceptance & pleasure. May Allah (swt) always keep us sincere and steadfast on Islam as our way of life and grant us a good end with the last of our words to be the Testimony of Faith [لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ – There is no deity worthy of worship save God (alone), and that Muhammad (ﷺ) is His servant & final messenger]. I ask Allah (عزَّ وجلَّ) to make the transitionary phase that is a barrier (Barzakh) between this life and the Hereafter to be better than this temporal abode as we hope for our soul to register in ‘Illiyeen’, God-willingly, and reunite with those who we love in the Hereafter.

The sentiment after this experience that resonates with me is from the poem “The House of healing” by Abū Muḥammad ibn Abū Sāliḥ ʿAbdol-Qāder al-Gīlānī al-Ḥasanī wa’l-Ḥusaynī, also known as ‘Abd-ol-Qāder Gīlāni (Persian: عبدالقادر گیلانی‎; 23 March 1078 – 21 February 1166). Gilani was a 12th-century faqih, Islamic scholar, theologian, and mystic originally from Gilan, Iran.

[English Translation]:

Until eternity, oh Lord, in Your Favours I have hope

If I lose hope in You, from where could I ever gain hope?

Much of my life I lived in defiance: See me not defiant

I have been unfaithful, but in Your Faithfulness I have hope

I am a pauper and a stranger, helpless, ailing and weak

In one cup’s medicine of the House of Healing, I have hope

I know that in the end Your Way is Forgiveness

Because of that, in Your Endless Mercy I have hope

Everyone places their hope in God, yet in others too

But for a lifetime I seek [only] You, and in You [alone] I have hope

You saw all I have done, yet You concealed with Graciousness

And You know well why I have hope in You

As, bit by bit, the grave’s soil takes me apart

With every bit, in God’s Grace I have hope

Repeatedly, I spoke and acted badly and remained the same

Despite of these transgressions, in Forgiveness I have hope

The light of my eyes has weakened from my tears, oh beloved

Now, from Your Place’s Healing Kohl, I have hope

This ghazal, “Dar-osh-shafa”, is a love-poem dedicated to God, Glorified and Exalted is He. ‘Abdol-Qader Gilani expresses his hope in the Mercy, Forgiveness and Grace of God. In the face of his mortality and fallibility, he expresses his regrets, but nevertheless places his trust and hope in God, Mighty and Majestic is He.

Journal Entry: Dream of Entering the Sacred Chamber

I have been consistent with my salutations on the prophet Muhammad ﷺ for some period. And, recently I have set a daily routine to recite the salutations & prayer upon him ﷺ from ‘Dalayl al-Khayrat’ by Imam Muhammad Al-Juzuli. My desire to see him ﷺ in a dream have been there ever since my spiritual vision (Green Dome & Minaret) of Masjid-e-Nabawi in Medina, which is where his ﷺ burial place is, in an awaken state during the time I was hospitalized in 2021 because of an unusual cause which occured by the will & decree of Allah (swt) of course.

The month of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1445 AH has arrived & it’s the month of his ﷺ birth which happen to occur on a Monday according to some of the Islamic scholars, historian & biographers of His ﷺ life (seerah); they note his departure from this temporal world in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, which also takes place on a Monday. The lovers of his ﷺ rejoice in account of the birth of their beloved prophet Muhammad ﷺ during this month praising him even more than the usual.

On the early morning of Tuesday the 4th of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1445 AH, I had a dream. I happened to walk upon a chamber, a house made of mud. At the gates were two people standing and pointing at me to come inside. To the right was a man wearing a pointed helmet with a green cloth wrapped around it on his head and a beige/camel garment. Standing beside him was a woman with the garment similar in color and wearing a green hijab. I couldn’t see both of their faces because it was radiant & bright as a light. As soon as I entered through the gate of the house, I kept walking straight ahead towards a see through curtain where I could see someone laying down on a straw mat cot. When I reached near the curtain, it pulled to my left side; I saw at first the reclining posture of a man wearing a pure white thobe laying on his right side with his head resting on his arms. My eye sight went blur as I saw his face. However, it was clear as crystal within a matter of seconds. His hair was black, wavy and long up to his neck parted from the middle, a slightly round face with fair skin tone of beige complexion & peachy cheeks. The symmetry of his nose perfectly proportioned, neither thick nor thin, bridging straight down between the eyes. He had, neither too thick nor thin, curved eye brows and his eyes were downturned & dreamy with thick eyelashes matching his coarse beard which was black, full, niether short nor too long. He had a captivating smile on his face with a glow around it which made me want to continue staring his face until I looked down out of having etiquette realizing that the man I was looking at was none other than prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The description of his ﷺ appearance was fitting accordingly with what I acknowledged myself through reading ‘ash-Shama’il al-Muhammadiyya’ by Imam Al-Tirmidhi. I couldn’t hold back my tears, and so I sat down before him ﷺ crying not knowing whether it was tears of joy or being ashamed and feeling unworthy of his ﷺ holy & noble presence. I remember the highlight of our conversation being the mention of Iron as a metal, and about the people (Tatars) from the Turkic ethnic groups.

There maybe not much significance to this, but I know that the barrier (Iron gates) between his ﷺ resting place carries a historic precedence of rulers from different muslim ethnic groups adding a monumental value in safeguarding the place of his ﷺ place of burial. So, to see the realities of what is beyond that barrier takes a constant need for connecting with the prophet Muhammad ﷺ spiritually by sending many salutations on him ﷺ regularly, especially, if we want him ﷺ to get to know us individually. I have no doubt in my heart, that those two people in the dream who invited me inside the ‘chamber’ was Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib & Hazrat Fatima al-Zahra (May Allah’s peace & blessings be upon them). May Allah (swt) allow us all to meet & greet the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in this life, physically & spiritually, and be able to anxiously wait our turn to get called with our names to the ‘Hawd Al-kawthar’ (Pond of Abundance) by our beloved prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the Hereafter quenching our thirst from the blessed hands of the beloved ﷺ to the beloved Insha’Allah.

I’m only sharing this experience for the purpose of getting other Muslim men & women to believe with certainty in the true reality of seen & the unseen with conviction, SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah). Have full certitude in the significance of which a sincere prayer can have in this life & the Hereafter Bi’ithnillah (by Allah’s will), Alhamdulillah (All praise belongs to Allah) .

Allah sends His Salât (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy) on the Prophet and also His angels (ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salât on (ask Allah to bless him), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation i.e. As¬Salâmu ‘Alaikum)”- [Al-Ahzaab 33:56].

O Allah! Send Your Mercy on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your Mercy on Abraham and on the family of Abraham, for You are the Most Praise-worthy, the Most Glorious.

O Allah! Send Your Blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent your Blessings on Abraham and on the family of Abraham, for You are the Most Praise-worthy, the Most Glorious. – (Sahih Bukhari)

Diligence during the Daily Prayer (An Islamic View)

Diligence during the Daily Prayer (An Islamic View)

It’s understood that human beings are created weak and in a state of forgetfulness. And, regardless of our continued efforts, we remain imperfect during the process to reach the level of praising Allah (swt) through worship as He, the Possessor of All Might and Majesty, ought to be entirely deserving awe for His Divine sublimity. As Muslims, most of the time, we struggle to keep up with our daily obligatory prayers prescribed for us as an honor during the most beautiful event (Al’Isra Wal-Mi’raj) in the history of mankind when the most beloved to Allah, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), was ascended beyond the physical realm of this earth crossing the celestial realm of the seven Heavens accompanied by the Angels, Prophets & Messengers (May Allah’s peace & blessings be upon them All) until he (ﷺ) came in the presence of his Lord, The Most-High.

An interesting way to go about praying while feeling Khushu (Complete devotion and mindfulness towards Allah, The Exalted) and becoming less distracted is to perceive it as a gift by which souls can take delight in and experience the proximity of God, The Benevolent. We know prayer is the means of direct communication between the Lord Almighty and His servants. It has been stated by the Salaf Al-Salih (Pious Predecessors), “The Salah (Prayer) is the Mi’raj (Ascension) for the Mu’min (believer).”

Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “The servant is closest to his Lord during Sujud (prostration), so increase your supplications therein.” [Sahih Muslim 482]

Internalize the following with the certainty of belief & complete conviction in the world of the unseen as you stand up for Salah (prayer) hoping to lead your spirit to ascend towards the nearness of God Almighty:

1) Begin praying as if it is your last. Imagine Hazrat Izraeel, the angel of death, arriving to take your soul by the command of Allah (ﷻ). Remember death as a reality that is to come upon all at an appointed time.

2) Kiraman-Katibin (the noble scribes), an angel on the right shoulder penning down our good thoughts, intentions, and action. Whereas, the angel on the left shoulder notes the evils of our Nafs (self) and whispers of Shaitan (Satan) that take the form of bad thoughts causing distraction from our ultimate goal; to be in the complete submission of our Lord.

3) Ahead of you are Munkir and Nakir, the two angels, who will visit your grave for interrogation. Then, we will come to know of the life of Al-Barzakh (the period between death and resurrection on the Day of Resurrection after the final hour.) Think about whether our soul registers in Illyeen (the place belonging to where the good souls take residence) or is it bounded to Sijjeen (where those souls who disbelieved are imprisoned and damned).

4) Before you conclude the prayer by saying “Asalamu Alaykum Wa’rehmatallah” (Peace be upon you and God’s mercy) and point your head to the right shoulder and then to the left shoulder. ” Imagine the scene of the Akhira (Hereafter). To the right is Paradise and the gates of Heavens, where the guardian of it is the Angel by the name of Ridwan (عليه السلام) who takes pleasure in saying “Asalamun Alaykum” (Peace be upon you) to the fortunate inhabitants. And, to the left is the blazing fire of Hell where its custodian Angel Malik (عليه السلام) stands in seriousness without a smile never to flinch due to the severity of his role to punish its unfortunate dwellers by the command of Allah (ﷻ).

Al-Bara’ ibn ‘Azib reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, when the believer is ready to depart the world and is facing the Hereafter, angels from heaven descend with bright faces, as if their faces were the sun, with them are the shrouds and perfumes of Paradise, until they sit from him a distance as far as the eye can see. Then, the angel of death, upon him be peace, comes until he sits by his head and he says: O pure soul, come out to the forgiveness of Allah and His pleasure! He takes it out like a drop from a water-skin and holds it, never to leave his hand for the blink of an eye until he places it in that shroud and perfume. The scent coming from it is more pleasant than any musk you would find on the face of the earth. He ascends and passes by no gathering of angels but that they say: What a pure spirit! They say he is this person, son of this person, calling him by the best names by which he was known in the world until he stops at the lowest heaven and seeks entry and it will be opened for him. The company of each heaven brings him closer to the heaven following it until he stops at the seventh heaven. Allah Almighty will say: Write the record of My servant in the righteous register and return him to the earth, for from it I created them, to it I return them, and from it, I will take them out once again. His spirit will be returned to his body and two angels will come to sit by him, saying to him: Who is your Lord? He will say: My Lord is Allah. They will say: What is your religion? He will say: My religion is Islam. They will say: Who is this man sent to you? He will say: He is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. They will say: How did you know? He will say: I read the Book of Allah, had faith in it, and believed in it. A heavenly announcement will be made: My servant has spoken the truth! Spread out carpets for him in Paradise, clothe him for Paradise, and open a gate for him to Paradise! Its comforts and fragrances will come to him and his grave will become spacious as far as his eye can see. A handsome man, with fine clothes and wonderful fragrance, will come and say: Glad tidings of what pleases you, for this was your Day you were promised! He will say: Who are you with such a handsome face? He will say: I am your righteous deeds! He will say: O Lord, begin the Hour that I may return to my family and property!

The Prophet continued, “Verily, when the unbeliever is ready to depart the world and is facing the Hereafter, angels descend from heaven with darkened faces and with them sack-cloth. They will sit away from his as far as the eye can see. Then, the angel of death approaches until he sits by his head and he says: O filthy soul, come out to the displeasure of Allah and His wrath! He will be separated from his body like the tearing of skewers from wet wool and he holds it in his hand, never to leave it for the blink of an eye, until he places it in this sack-cloth. The scent coming from it is like the most foul corpse found upon the face of the earth. They will ascend with him and not pass by a gathering of angels but that they say: What a filthy spirit! They say he is this person, son of this person, calling him by the ugliest names by which he was known in the world, until he stops at the lowest heaven. They will request it to be opened for him but it will not open.” Then, the Prophet recited the verse, “The gates of heaven will never open for them, nor will they enter Paradise, until the camel goes through the eye of the needle,” (Holy Quran, 7:40). The Prophet said, “Allah Almighty will say: Write his record in the wicked register in the lowest earth. His spirit will be thrown down,” then the Prophet recited the verse, “It is as though he had fallen from the sky and was snatched by the birds or the wind carried him down into a remote place,” (Holy, Quran, 22:31). The Prophet said, “His spirit will return to his body and two angels will come to sit by him, saying to him: Who is your Lord? He will say: Uh, uh, I do not know! They will say: What is your religion? He will say: Uh, uh, I do not know! They will say: Who is this man sent to you? He will say: Uh, uh, I do not know! A heavenly announcement will be made: He has lied! Spread carpets for him in Hellfire and open a gate for him to Hellfire! Its heat and its flames will approach him, and he will be squeezed in his grave until his ribs press together. An ugly man, with hideous clothing and a foul stench, will approach him and say: Glad tidings of what despairs you, for this is your Day you were promised! He will say: Who are with your evil face? He will say: I am your wicked deeds! He will say: O Lord, do not begin the Hour!

May Allah (ﷻ) always allow us to continuously be in a state of Tawba (repentance) & constantly seek His forgiveness. May He (ﷻ) include us as His sincere devotees. Ya Allah (ﷻ) keep us protected from the evils of our Nafs (self) and the Waswas (whispers) of Shaitan (Satan). May He (ﷻ) allow us to have a good ending in this world and the Akhira (Hereafter). SECRETS

[1]

Do you have a secret with Allah,

Between you and between Allah;

Do you have good deeds that you hide,

that no one knows except Allah.

[2]

Stories that do not get revealed except,

through your book (of deeds) when you face Allah;

What brings you more freedom than that,

which elevates your status with Allah.

Upon hearing the recital of this beautiful couplet, “Secrets” by Ridjaal Ahmed, Ahmad felt his veins pulsating and he gets goosebumps by listening to each word as if it was meant only for him to be heard by his Creator, Allah (The Possessor of Might & Majesty).

Ahmad reads the Quran at night and listens to the commentary by the great late Pakistani philosopher, Dr. Israr Ahmed, during the day. Upon surfacing his social media (Facebook), he comes across the death anniversary of both influencers, Allamah Muhammad Iqbal & Dr. Israr Ahmed, with whom he has taken inspiration in learning Islamic theology, history & philosophy over a period. Thus, he intends to spend time as it’s his last day before he returns to his Lord in the blessed month of Ramadan. Ahmad starts doing a lot of Dhikr (remembrance) of God during early morning and late evening. Also, he would keep himself awake at night for prayer. At the time of each prayer, it would appear to him as if inanimate objects (i.e., fridge, TV) is praising along with him to his Lord through vibration & static. He would feel the presence of angels in the house at the time of night prayer. His connection grew stronger towards his Lord every time he praises Him, The Almighty, after each prayer through immense Dhikr (remembrance). He would feel as though he is in sync with the angels up above in the Heavens at Bayt al Ma’mur chanting the praise with him “Labbayka Allahumma labbayk, labbayka laa shareeka laka labbayk. Inna al-hamd wa’l-ni’mata laka wa’l-mulk, laa shareeka lak” [Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty, You have no partner]. Bayt al Ma’mur, also known as the “Frequented House”, is a prototype of Ka’bah, the House of Allah (Glory be to Him, The Exalted), and it is located outside of the human realm. It is located directly above the Ka’bah in the highest Heaven, i.e., the seventh Heaven, and just above it, is Allah’s throne. This sacred and Holy house is also mentioned in Surah Tur of the Holy Quran, where Allah (The Most-Compassionate) says: “And by the Bait-ul-Ma’mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka’bah at Mecca, continuously visited by the angels)” (At-Tur 52:4)

During one of the evenings, he goes to the park with his brother for their regular walk. To their surprise, however, they observe a flock of birds on the field as they made their way to the forest. He had never seen such a sight before with that many birds spread across the field. Ahmad comes to a realization that this Ramadan is going to be special.

Ahmad had a frequent habit of sending salutations to the prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), but he increases it more so in these blessed days of Ramadan. On Friday evening, an hour before sunset, he puts on the recitation of the praise of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Qasida Burda Sharif (The Poem of the mantle) by Imam al-Busiri. Just as he opens the fast along with his family, he notices a calm coolness wrapping around him. Each time he would drink water the coolness would remain. His family feels a similar effect as well and enjoys it with tremendous tranquility within the surrounding.

Meanwhile, Ahmad’s family slightly shows concern about the circumstance he was in. Yet, he explains to them to bear patience as this is something from the unseen and that any occurrence of the unusual is from the supernatural. One night, after reciting the Quran, he sends salutations to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). During the recital, Ahmad hears a loud bang like the sound of thunder as if the sky had split open. Suddenly, his chest starts to feel tightening, and he starts to lose his breath while he finds trouble carrying on further with his speech. He could feel his heart pumping slowly and beating across his chest. He lets go of the book from which he has been reading the salutation upon the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and gets up panicking.

He goes downstairs to his mother and tells her about his situation. She tells him that he needs to sleep and rest. Ahmad thinks to himself as if Malak ul Maut (angel of death), Hazrat Azrael (Allah’s peace & blessings be upon him), had come knocking on his door. If that is the case, he didn’t feel ready to depart from this world just yet. In his mind, he still needs to build on his record of good deeds. While eating at the time of Suhoor, he starts to feel a chill breeze and mentions it to his mother. She offers him tea and realizes that she too feels the chill breeze. Upon drinking hot tea, he feels the warmth in his body.

Before dawn, he stands for the prayer with his father beside him and his mother behind them. As soon as he listens to the recitation of the Holy Quran which his father reads aloud during the prayer, his body slowly leans forward bowing towards the ground and he drops on the floor on his back and his arms wide open. During his fall, he hears a gush of wind outside in his backyard, and his parents call him by his name to get up with a worrisome tone in their voice. However, his body seems to have been paralyzed as he says the Kalimah Shahadat [testimony of faith] “Ashaduan la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharikalu wa ashadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa Rasuluhu” [I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, the One alone, without a partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger]. While saying this, he hears the draining of water flow. His father brings a pillow and places it under his head. The tone in the manner of Ahmad’s speech softens & he rests in tranquility. Eventually, his eyes open. His parents indicate that he needs sleep. He tries to get up, but his body feels too weak to push himself. As he stands back up, he feels a shooting pain in his heart as if someone had pinched it. His parents wrap him in a blanket and bring him to his room so he can rest on his bed.

Hadith (Narration of the Prophetic sayings & tradition) where the incident of the purification of our beloved Prophet Muhammad’s (ﷺ) Heart took place:

Anas b. Malik (رضي الله عنه) reported that Jibreal (عليه السلام) came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) while he was playing with his playmates. He took hold of him and lay him prostrate on the ground and tore open his breast and took out the heart from it and then extracted a blood clot out of it and said: That was the part of Satan in thee. And then he washed it with the water of Zamzam in a golden basin and then it was joined together and restored to its place. The boys came running to his mother, i. e. his nurse, [Haleemah As-Sa’diyyah] and said: Verily Muhammad has been murdered. They all rushed toward him (and found him all right); his color was changed, Anas said. I myself saw the marks of the needle on his breast. (Muslim)

This incident involved spiritual purification but was manifested in a physical, tangible manner. The removal of the blood clot purified the Prophet (ﷺ) from the immaturity, foolishness, and recklessness of youth. The incident also shows us the degree to which Allah protected the Prophet (ﷺ) and prevented Shaitaan (Satan) from having any influence over him whatsoever. (The Noble Life of the Prophet, peace be upon him, by Dr. ‘Ali Muhammad As-Sallaabee)

Notes: Ahmad gets a reception from the archangels, Mikail and Ruh al-Amin (Holy Spirit), Jibreal, Allah’s peace & blessings be upon them. Hazrat Mikail (عليه السلام) is the angel of Allah who has been assigned the task of maintaining the natural events that sustain life on Earth by the order of Allah. These tasks include pouring rainfall, changing seasons, the blowing wind, and managing the supplications of Allah’s creations. Hazrat Jibreal (Allah’s peace & blessings be upon him) is the angel responsible to bring Wahy (revelations) to the Messengers & Prophets of Allah (Glorious is He, The Exalted One). The occurrence of an angelic intermediary binds the spiritual connection between those (Prophets & Messengers) chosen to the Divinity of Allah (God). Therefore, these elected Prophets & Messengers (May Allah’s peace & blessings be upon them) were responsible for spiritual enlightenment in humanity by presenting God’s law, legislation & knowledge on earth which were set before mankind for them to attest towards the manifestation of God in His, The Possessor of Might & Majesty, absolute unity. The door to revelation has been shut closed with the death of the seal of the prophethood, the final prophet & messenger of Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ). However, there remain glad tidings of the prophethood in a form of a good vision and dreams that come true. This happens to the righteous servants who try relentlessly in attaining proximity to their Lord and in the process receive Ilham (inspiration) through the Holy Spirit with certain knowledge perceived in their hearts as Divine grace. That being said, Only God knows best. We shouldn’t accept information as being valid if it doesn’t align with the teachings from the Holy Quran & the methodologies from the Sunnah (Sayings & Traditions) of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). O Allah! Show us the truth as truth and enable us to observe it, and show us falsehood as falsehood and enable us to avoid it. And bestow Your blessings and peace upon our master, Muhammad, and on His Family and Companions, altogether.

Every time Ahmad would try to go to sleep, he hears strong wind creeping outside his bedroom window. He couldn’t help but feel his heartbeat slowing down and experience shortness of breath every time he would keep a shut eye. This carries on for a bit as he becomes restless thinking he is going to pass away if he sleeps. After a day or two, when the sun rises just after dawn, he internalizes within himself the chapter in the Holy Quran, Surah Yaseen. The voice in his head directs him to imagine it as the veil of a bride worn for adornment. He knew that this chapter is commonly referred to as being the heart of the Quran. Immediately, he thinks of someone that is beloved to him. As soon as the thought of her occupies his mind, he stops hearing the wind blowing right away. After a brief pause, he gets up to observe and listen to birds chirping outside his window. He gets up in excitement from his bed and wakes up his parents. Ahmad tells them to prepare for a celebration because today he finally unites with his beloved. However, he realizes he may have committed a major sin by associating a partner with his Lord by carrying love for a significant other beside his Lord in his heart. Suddenly, he starts to panic and says that he can’t commit shirk (Polytheism) and he wouldn’t want to be guilty of this grave sin even if it was unintentional. He runs into the bathroom. His brother knocks on the door and tells him with great concern to just go to bed. He yells at him to get away from his sight. He gets in the shower and pours hot water on himself to feel the heat of it scorching his skin. After taking the shower, he warps himself with a white towel. He goes into his room and closes the door behind him. He takes out the prayer mat and falls into prostration with his head placed on the ground towards the direction of the Holy Ka’aba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He states with humility, “Labbayka Allahumma labbayk, labbayka laa shareeka laka labbayk. Inna al-hamd wa’l-ni’mata laka wa’l-mulk, laa shareeka lak” [Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty, You have no partner]. After repeating it several times, he starts asking for forgiveness by saying, “Astaghfirullah rabbi min kulli zambiyon wa atoobu ilaiyh” [I seek forgiveness in Allah from all my sins and repent to Him] out loud in a mild manner with a concerned voice. Meanwhile, his parents who seem confused at this point open the door of Ahmad’s room and ask him to stop whatever he appears to be doing. He didn’t stop, rather shouts the words he was uttering loudly as if he has been possessed. They let him be and shut the door behind them. Now Ahmad realizes he has no control over him. Between his chanting, he notices himself taking intervals where he would cry. This initiates him to think of it as the voice of the dwellers of hell being punished. It repeats a few times after the supplication for forgiveness. Then, he notices his feet drag from being on their toes to laying flat, his hands fall flat from being upright, his nose presses against the surface of the mat running a little and his forehead scratches slightly from the middle in the process of being dragged forward. As his body crumbles in this position, he makes a humming noise after. Then, he drops on the left side of his body with his hands crossed. His right hand is fisted with the index finger pointing towards the ground over his left-hand which is placed facing up with his palm exposed. Upon this occurrence, he thinks of his body as an embodiment of this world and how it will perish. Bringing upon Allah’s creation, seen & unseen, the dreadful day of judgement on which their accounts will be set and His, Almighty God, justice will prevail. Finally, he gets up and puts on his clothes. He opens the door of his room and asks his parents if he can come to sit with them as they were patiently sitting on the bed.

Introspection from the Holy Quran & Hadiths (Prophetic Saying & tradition):

Shirk (Polytheism) is the act of associating Allah with partners in Divinity. This is the only sin that Allah considers unforgivable, as it violates the primary tenet of Islam, which is a pure Monotheistic belief in God.

“Verily, Allah forgives not the sin of setting up partners in worship with Him, but He forgives whom He wills sins other than that. And whoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, has indeed strayed far from the path.” (An-Nisa 4:116)

Notes: Ahmad attests to his belief in accordance with pure Islamic monotheism. He witnesses the signs of the last hour and the day of judgment when the Trumpet will be blown by the angel, Hazrat Israfeel (peace be upon him). The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has told us that the one who will blow the Trumpet has been ready to do so since Allah created him, as it is narrated in al-Mustadrak from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The gaze of the one who will blow the Trumpet has been fixed since he was entrusted with it, looking towards the throne of Allah, ready (to blow it), in case he will be commanded to do so before he blinks as if his eyes are two shining stars.” Classed as Saheeh (authentic) by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 1078. Hazrat Israfeel (peace be upon him) is the angel who has been assigned the task of blowing the trumpet on the Day of Judgment. He is also known as the angel of Soor (the Trumpet). He will blow the Trumpet twice. On the first time, Doomsday would happen. On the second blow, everyone shall be resurrected.

“On the Day when the Blast reverberates, and the second blast follows, hearts will tremble, eyes will be downcast. They say: What! Shall we be brought back to life after we have turned into decayed bones? They say: that would truly be a fateful return! But all it will take is a single blast, and see, they will be back above the ground! (Al-Nāziʿāt 79:6-14)

The blast will reverberate through creation. The earth will convulse, the mountains will disintegrate, and the oceans will boil over. Everything will be destroyed, and everyone will die.

“The Trumpet will be sounded and behold! They will rush out to their Lord from their graves. They will say, ‘Woe to us! Who has resurrected us from our resting place?’ They will be told, ‘This is what the Lord of Mercy has promised, and the messengers told the truth.’ It was just one single blast and then – behold! They were all brought before Us. Today no soul will be wronged in the least; you will only be repaid for your deeds.” (Yā Sīn 36:51)

“And We will set up a just balance on the day of resurrection, so no soul shall be dealt with unjustly in the least; and though there be the weight of a grain of mustard seed, (yet) will We bring it, and sufficient are We to take account.” (Al-Anbiya 21:47)

Later that morning, Ahmad goes outside for a walk. Upon leaving his house, he observes nature and the environment to be auspicious. People greet him as he follows the usual trail nearby. He greets them back by saying salaam (greeting of peace). He walks over the bridge that comes on the way to the park close to his house. It makes it seem familiar to him as the bridge of Sirat in the Hereafter, where true believers will pass over it quickly, some will find some difficulty crossing it but will eventually find relief, and others will slip and fall in the pits of Hell. As he comes near the park, he could hear his beloved talking to him in a mysterious way as if she is waiting for him there. He becomes shy as he makes his way to the middle of the field. He rests on his back looking straight up into the glare of the sun until it turns green. He finds himself to be in a state of contentment. At this point, he gets a call from his father. He tells him about his experience, however, his father insists he should return home. On his way back home, he takes another route. When he came to the street of his house, his father calls him to check in again about his whereabouts. He picks Ahmad up and they come back home. In the afternoon, his family gathered in the living room. Ahmad sits down with them, and they suggest that he should go to the emergency. He agrees to the idea of checking himself in the hospital.

He goes to the emergency with aid from his father. His body starts to shut down with weakness. He was brought a wheelchair to sit down on. From there his mind starts to fade out. He tells the administrative staff about his condition and that he had been hallucinating due to lack of sleep, fasting, and reading extensively over the past week or so. They move him to a different setting in the waiting room. After a while, he gets up to look around for his father forgetting that he has been admitted to the hospital. A nurse catches him in the hallway wandering and brings him to a room with a bed in it. After a short period of nonattendance, a lady doctor comes to the room and inputs his biodata into the computer which was on the right side of the bed. She tells him to remember todays date before leaving and veils over the bed curtain for privacy. The door of the room is kept open. After, a man who Ahmad perceives as being unpleasant walks in and inserts a needle in Ahmad’s left arm, and leaves. As Ahmad begins to rest, he hears people walking by the corridor. He recognizes some of the voices which resemble the likes of his extended family members who he thinks are coming to him for visit. He feels their presence in the room and imagines them passing through him onto the other side (hereafter) as if he was a vessel of intercession for them to reach the gates of Heaven. He gets up and stares at the light which was in the room. The middle of it turns into a round shape appearing to him as a pearl. He asks the security guard standing outside his room to direct him toward the washroom. He goes in it and takes out the needle from his arm which starts to bleed after pulling it out. He cleans up and washes his hand until the bleeding stops and comes back to his room. A nurse comes with a gown for him to change into and a form for him to read. In the form, it states that he has not been subjected to depression and that his mental health is completely fine. He is pleased to read this form. Ahmad puts on the gown thinking he is being prepared to meet his family. Instead, he gets shifted to another room.

This room is different than the previous one. The mechanical bed was narrow and pinned against the wall. There was quite more space to walk around, however, the door is shut and locked. Ahmad sits on the bed and sees a table that has a box with a sandwich in it. He eats the sandwich and drinks some juice that he finds on the desk as well. His memory at this point becomes hazy and he starts to black out even more. He uncovers the bed sheet, which was blue in color, and throws it on the ground. The room becomes warm. Another lady doctor enters the room and asks him questions regarding his mental health. Though he isn’t consciously aware of his surrounding, his speech remains eloquent in explaining to her that being in this room makes him uncomfortable because it reminds him of someone he knows who is subjected to mental health illness. He elaborates further to her that he and this individual share a mutual interest in religious studies. However, the person he is talking about doesn’t practice as much of it and has a flawed understanding. After the brief conversation, the doctor leaves and comes back with a book that he can read if he wants. The book was titled, “The Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle” by Richard Riordan. He reads the back cover of it and thinks to himself that his life story is being published as a New York bestseller. As if he pictures himself being in a different time and space. While he rests, he hears the voice of his parents and siblings coming from a far distance. He gets up from the bed and rushes to the door. He stares outside the window frame at the security officer sitting on the desk and points his right-hand index finger to his heart. Then, he falls to the ground and goes back to his bed to rest. This happens continuously and each time the security officer nods his head indicating he has to stay in bed. The light turns off and he stays in bed patiently this time with his index finger still pointing toward his heart. With each beat of the drum of his heart, he notices the voices of his nephew, nieces, siblings, and parents drawing nearer along with the sound of a lawn mower in the background. The light in the room turns on and he sits up on the bed this time. He hears a collective chant “Allahu Akbar” [God’s the Greatest], as one would hear a group say with their voices in sync, and feels a rush flow down from his head to toe. He picks up the bed sheet from the floor and puts it back on the bed. The room begins to feel chilly. He makes his way to the door, and it opens with four security guards hesitating to bring the wheelchair forward fearing to enter before Ahmad. He goes to the washroom to relieve himself first. Then, he sits in the wheelchair and they take him to a different section.

Ahmad is brought to an isolated room that has a lounging area with a television, a washroom, and four other rooms. He takes a seat with a registered nurse who tells him why he is there and questions him if he’s under the influence of any drugs. Ahmad tells him he hasn’t taken drugs and his condition is simply due to fasting, retaining intensive information, and sleep deprivation. He gets addressed to go to one of the rooms. The room had a decent bed for him to rest on. However, there was a colored glass block window that made the room seem dull. He eats a meal shortly after which is brought to him. Ahmad would occupy his time creating a scenario using plastic cutleries & jugs. He would sometimes place the jugs in the middle of the wall making them stand together facing opposite sides of the corner. One jug faces the right corner the other faces the left. He would sit on his bed and observe. This representation is for the angels, Kiraman Katibin (Honorable Scribers), on each of his shoulders. He remembers that the good deeds are written down by the angel on his right, and bad deeds by the angel on his left. Sometimes he would rearrange the setting. For example, once he would finish eating his meal. He would place the tray with cutlery in the middle, the jugs on the right-hand corner facing the parallel wall on the left, and the garbage (juice, milk, and yogurt container) in the left-hand corner. To his understanding, the tray and cutlery represented the spectation of Allah, Al-Raqib [The All-Observant] in our lives. The two jugs on the right side were streams of guidance; The Holy Quran [The Direct & non-interchangeable speech of Allah] & the Sunnah (Prophetic teaching & tradition) of the His last and final messenger, Muhammad (Allah’s peace & blessings be upon him). The garbage on the left was to distinguish the misguidance of the wrongdoers and the existence of evil in this world. Ahmad is hardly allowed to come outside his room due to his unusual behavior. At first, he kept banging on the door, shouting at the people he sees through the window in the administration office to let him out. A day or two later, he is permitted to come out of his room into the lounging area. He looks inside the other rooms out of curiosity and finds the other patients to be doing uncommon things. He sees a girl with her hair covered over her face who seems to be bewitched by an evil spirit. Another one, who is present with him in the lounge, doesn’t respond when Ahmad tries making a conversation. She would just stare at him and keep a very subservient glance. Another person who was in the last room near the door of the main hallway stares at Ahmad when he looks inside. This patient murmurs in a strange way as if he was performing magic. He had arranged things in his room similarly to the way Ahmad did. Upon observing this, Ahmad yells at him. Both exchange a long stare until Ahmad makes him uncomfortable with his ferocious glare and he looks away. Whenever Ahmad is let out of his room he sits down to watch television or walks back and forth in the lounge to not be idle. He looks through the window of the administration office and finds comfort in being able to see a group of people besides just the patients. He acknowledges that he needs to bear patience and believe with certainty only Allah knows when he will be back to normalcy. His time in the room would consume by making Adhaan (Call to prayer) and praying sometimes. Also, he picks up his old habit of doing push-ups in the evening so he can stay active. During the night, the light that is placed above the wall in his room would turn on. He remains consistent on staring at it until it would change its shape from rectangular to round from the center appearing to him as a pearl once again. One night, as he was staring at the light, he sees the shape of a dome with a minaret appear which reminded him of the resting place of his Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) in the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia. He starts to cry in awe of receiving such a blessed sight knowing he doesn’t deserve to be in this lofty position.

After passing of few days, he is now able to access the main hallway and explore more amenities on the floor. He meets more patients who have separate rooms which weren’t isolated, unlike the one Ahmad is in. The staff working there would regularly keep a check on him by taking his blood pressure and giving him medicine. As he makes his way to the cafeteria, he encounters two girls drawing. He goes up to them and sees their art, the detail of which is illustrative & vivid. He observes on the paper a luscious garden, white horses with wings flying across the clouds, and a radiant rainbow over it. He goes back to the hallway which is long and has good space for him to walk. So, he keeps himself active by walking a lot in the hallway along with another old man who carries a rosary prayer bead in his hand all the time. Then, he makes his way to see the sunshine over the plants that were placed on the table in the cafeteria. He looks up towards the sky and promises to himself to try to never take Allah’s, The Guardian, creation for granted ever. Each time he asks for water from the staff, after having a few sips, he pours the rest into each plant knowing well of the reward of servitude for His, The Most-Merciful, sake from his Creator, The One & Only. On the same floor, he finds a room with books and movie cassettes which intrigues him. He uses the payphone to make a call to his parents asking when he can come home now that he is feeling better and healthy again. But, he senses that it’s a matter of a few more days. Meanwhile, he notices that some of the patients draw their attention to him for partaking in activities, and Ahmad would make sure they receive his company pleasantly. A week or so later, he is transferred to the room in the hallway and gets access to his cell phone. He reaches out to his family and connects back to reality. He realizes that he has to take the prescribed medication in order for him to not revert to his psychosis for the time being. However, it is made certain to him that his experience is unique for only he to believe in its occurrence as a supernatural event. When Ahmad’s father came to pick him up, he bade the patients who were at his sight and the staff farewell. As they head out, the old man with the prayer bead in his hand stops before them and tells Ahmad’s father that his son is a good man. Upon hearing this, Ahmad was truly humbled. He comes back home and finds himself in gratitude of Allah, The Unique, to allow him to go through this spiritual enlightenment that made him further develop a positive outlook on life. In the end, the reward for him was a reunion with his family and concluding the blessed month of Ramadan in celebration of Eid together with them.

Do the people think that they will be left alone after they have once said, “We have believed,” and they will not be tested? The fact is that we have put to test all those who have gone before them. Surely, Allah has to see who is truthful and who the liars are. And do those who are committing evil deeds reckon that they will outstrip Us? Evil is their judgment. Whoever expects to meet Allah (should know that) Allah’s appointed time is about to come, and Allah hears everything and knows everything. Whoever will exert will exert for his own good. Allah is certainly Independent of all His creations. As for those who believe and do good works, We shall wipe off their evils and reward them for the best of their deeds. [Al-Ankabut 29:1-7]

Mysticism

In Islamic folklore, the appearance of Al-Khidr (Allah’s peace & blessings be upon him) is always significant to those who have been exposed to affirm the knowledge of certainty in the seen and the unseen. He is the initiator of this knowledge of those ready to receive it. The architect into the esoteric mysteries, known as an immortal guide, takes on the role of accompanying on a spiritual quest of the true seekers traversing on the path towards acknowledging Allah and his marvel, envisioning the higher realities which they observe & experience. It is believed by some that Sayyidina Khidr (Allah’s peace & blessings be upon him) is the guide by the necessity of all those who travel directly towards God without intermediaries. His way is mysterious but full of strange enlightenment and ascension to a different state of consciousness; all who he comes close to being secretly, invisibly, completely esoterically, transformed in their interior consciousness. His spiritual intervention takes place by making things appear to those in the physical realm as abnormal, but the true faith for the believer lies when sanity is tested by the juxtaposition of higher realities. In the case of Ahmad, his family members were tested to have trust in Allah’s decree & be patient with him. For Ahmad, it was a challenge to waver his faith a little and see if he too can show patience. However, Ahmad knew Allah put him on this test and He alone will be the one to get him to see it through. In his most vulnerable position at the hospital, Ahmad envisions the resting place of his beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which made him believe with certainty that he was not alone and that he has become the praised one.

Prophethood is lifted at the demise of our beloved and final Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), but its knowledge remains. Therefore, some dreams can be considered similar to prophetic revelation in the truthfulness of its content or indication by righteous servants of Allah.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When the end of time draws near, the dream of a believer can hardly be false, and the dream of a believer is one part from forty-six parts of prophethood.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The path of a mystic is not solely dependent on the outward benefit of their supernatural wonder of Karamat (charismatic acts of miracles) by the permission of Allah or the inward knowledge of the Ghayb (unseen). Rather it is a path for the select few who must want it sincerely to not only attain the Ma’rifah (Conscious awareness) of Allah’s essence & attributes but to remain careful along their spiritual journeying towards Him, The Most-High, in complete submission to His command & the command of His final Messenger, Muhammad (Allah’s peace & blessings be upon him). The unveiling of the Divine sublimity occurs in the life of a believer for him or her to witness Allah’s Beauty and Majesty so they can increase the praise of their Lord and achieve nearness to Him, The Almighty.

Also, when it comes to mysticism, one cannot help but associate the concept of Sainthood with this selected group of people who have been granted Allah’s favor. The fact of the matter is that all the believing men & women who are true devotees of Allah, Glorious & Exalted is He, are guaranteed to be among those granted His favor Insha’Allah (God-willingly). That’s why it is most definitely a conception that is flawed and dangerous to attach to the tenants of Islamic theology. Moreover, it can lead the mass towards misguidance if not aligned with the book of Allah, the Holy Quran, and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Even the righteous among human beings are susceptible to making mistakes or sinning, but the best of them are those who return to their Lord seeking forgiveness through repentance.

“As for those who repent, believe, and do good deeds, they are the ones whose evil deeds Allah will change into good deeds. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Al-Furqan, 25:70)

Some of the Salaf (pious predecessors) used to say that it is not a big matter whether you love; the biggest matter is to be loved by Allah. If you are loved by Allah, then you are granted His mercy and blessings. You are going to be granted His support and guidance. If we choose Allah as our Wali (Protector) then Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) know that He, The Almighty, is closer to us than our jugular veins and takes care of our affairs to the best of His, The All-Aware & The Wise, knowledge. Therefore, we must make sure that we only take Him (alone) as our Guardian and friend.

Articles of faith to acknowledge & believe in are the following:

1) Tawheed (Oneness of Allah)

Tawheed Al-Uloohiyyah [The unity of worship]: to worship Allah without associating any partners with Him and to avoid the worship of false gods & idols. There is no deity other than God alone worthy of worship.

Tawheed Al-Ruboobiyyah [Unity of Lordship]: He alone possesses the power to create and command and He, Lord of all the worlds, is the Creator, Master, Sustainer of all things, living & non-living, seen & the unseen.

Tawheed Al Asma Was-Sifaat is monotheism related to Allah’s names and attributes which requires complete acceptance and submission to the authentic texts of the Qur’an and the Sunnah (Prophetic teachings) that mention Allah’s lofty names and attributes. “Allah, there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names.” [Surah Ta’Ha: 8]

2) The Mala’ika (Angels) [Allah’s creation made from light, existing in the world of the unseen, who fulfills their assigned duties under His command]

3) Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet) in which the destiny of the universe is set by Allah’s divine decree.

4) Allah’s books [Torah prescribed to Moses (peace be upon him), Psalm of David (peace be upon him), Gospel of Jesus (peace be upon him) & The Holy Quran that was revealed to His final prophet & messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him)]

5) His Prophets & Messengers (Allah’s peace & blessings be upon them)

6) The day of judgment [scales set for the account of the deeds of the human beings & the Jinns (the creation of Allah made from smokeless fire living in the world of the unseen)]

7) The Hereafter (Afterlife of the eternal abode in the bliss of Paradise or the torment of Hellfire)

“Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into the light.” (Al-Baqarah, 2:257)

The Month of Ramadan; Symbolizing Revival of Faith (Eman), & Spiritual Excellence (Ihsan), in the religion of Islam.

The Month of Ramadan; Symbolizing Revival of Faith (Eman), & Spiritual Excellence (Ihsan), in the religion of Islam.

In contrast to the lockdown due to the pandemic, along with readying our mind & body for the vaccination against the deadly virus. There is much of the lessons to be derived for us to reflect upon as we welcome the blessed & beautiful month of Ramadan in which the holy book of Quran was reveled for guidance to humanity. The month in which God [The Exalted] revealed his revelations through Gabriel (peace be onto him) to Muhammad (May God blessings & peace be upon him). The month of fulfilling the ritual mode of worship & fasting of the body for the cleansing of the soul. Beginning of the spiritual purification through abstaining of the worldly desires of the self. The month of full conviction as believing men & women whose will are in submission to divine decree of God alone and have attested to His Prophets & messengers, His angels, origin of transmission of word of God in previous holy scriptures (i.e., Torah, Psalms of David & Gospel of Jesus before the integration of improvised contextualization containing the impurities of the human rationale), the last hour before the establishment of the day of accountability & His [The Exalted] judgment & the realities of the hereafter. A month of seclusion, yet of service to others through acts of giving charity of all forms for the sake of pleasing their Lord and attaining the rewards & many blessings in this temporal abode and from His [The Exalted] bounties of the hereafter. The month in which the Satan & his army of evil are chained & locked behind shut gates of hell. Whereas the door of mercy & heavens is extended to His [The Most-High] faithful servants. It is a month of solitary seclusion in which the believers pray, contemplate & reflect on the gift bestowed upon them in return of utmost reliance on God. Most of all, it is the month of attaining peace & tranquility within the hearts. In it one finds cure to their spiritual ails due to the blessings it contains for the believers completely surrendering his or her will to God (mo’min) and becoming from the sincere devotee (mukh’liseen). Indeed, the month of Ramadan is an antidote for the sickness of hearts due to the atmospheric influences and the natural disposition of this material world.

In a hadith [chain of narration of prophetic saying & tradition] reported by Abu Hurayra [one of the companions (God be pleased with them all) under the direct teaching at the time of the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him); a prolific narrator and scholastic champion] collected by Imam An-Nasa’I in Al-Kubara #2421

The Prophet (May God blessings & peace be upon him) said:” When the month of Ramadan begins the doors of mercy are opened up, the doors of Hell are locked, and the devils are chained.”

Nobody can be flawless & remain free from sins. It is not humanly possible except for the prophets & messengers of God who He sent forth to humanity as a witness to revert all the devout to the Oneness of God alone & become exemplary in leading a path of righteousness for the followers of their nation which they had been sent to. Nonetheless, the guide for creation has been encrypted through the divine revelations prescribed onto humanity through forms of metaphysics, which is limited for human rationale to conceptualize. Yet, it can be perceived to arrive at the conclusion with conviction for the autonomy of living by the command and instruction to navigate the affairs of humanity in an appropriate ultimatum without the interruption of it with human perversion. In fact, in this material world, an inventor shall provide a manual guide for the common folks to adhere to the set of instructions to achieve the completion of his or her invention. Although, they must have had to learn the requisite skills to acquire and reach the level of expertise. Similarly, in the duration of these trial phases of scientific research & development of producing the vaccination to reach the mass in a reasonable timeframe could always leave room for human error due to our imperfection. Hence, there is The One & Only deity who is free & independent from all human defects. Beginningless & endlessness is from His [The Exalted] attribute & essence that allows us to perceive His [The Most Glorious] majestic and infinite qualities incomprehensive for human mind to capacitate due to its limitation. He is The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful. He loves those who loves to show humility and ask Him [The All-Powerful] for all favors. He loves those who can humble themselves by showing gratitude, kindness & generosity towards the creation to gain His [The Almighty] mercy. God loves those who love to return to Him [The All-Forgiving] with repentance. He loves those who confide within themselves to forgive others to be able to seek His [The exalted] forgiveness. True salvation is independent of creation and attained only through His [The Most-High] mercy. The best among men & women are those who safeguard themselves from the impurities of life & are always in a state of repentance (returning) to their Lord; these are true believing men & women with God consciousness, who strive to rid themselves of the diseases of their heart under the influence of ego-self & initiate the purification of the soul through remembrance & obedience of God [The Most-High].

Now that everyone is preparing to get the covid vaccination from this empathic virus that has caused a prolonged worldwide pandemic with a devastating aftermath of adverse affects perpetuated on a micro & macro schemes of life. After year & a half later, there is a strange sense of awe to hear getting “needles in arms” for the vaccination to stabilize & continue to reverse the effects of this pandemic to go back to living our lives as we normally would. It almost seems paradoxical for mankind to have been in such a powerless state. Since the beginning of human history, man’s reliance upon his intellect has been self-serving his ego to claim proximity towards enlightenment & advancement reaching climax. Yet, we come to grasp onto the reality of helpless & vulnerability when faced with catastrophes such as this likeliness of this pandemic. Through centuries of the genius framework of minds in developing further technological advancement & exceling towards achievements through science for the betterment of humanity; it would have deemed appropriate for mankind to evaluate & learn from psychological traumas of the previous endemic to take preventative measures through innovative blueprints created by the experts in their relative field. Today, here we are still under scrutiny of trial & error. In defiance of the reality of metaphysics; the supernatural & the unseen in the grand spectrum. The heights of arrogance & the lack of accountability have reached its peak. We have failed to grasp the true understanding of our goal in humanity; to be in service to God by serving others. Subservience to the Creator & not the creation. There is no doubt that science has had a significance amount of impact over the course of history, but it has only made clear to humanity of the signs & wonders of God that is vast & infinite. From the mysteries of which only some is unveiled before humankind in this realm of the material world. Hence, the notion is to be apprehended from a holistic approach to give all the credit to the Ultimate Creator, The Producer & The Fashioner of all things created; living & non-living of that which is from the seen & the unseen. Everything in between the Heavens & the earth belongs to God alone. With all esteem held for modern-day science & its findings to provide safety through securing medical alternatives for the treatment of all the ails of human condition. Our incompetency shall remain regardless of the pedigree of many accomplishments of this world as to show humility towards The One & Only, The Determiner of all realities, The All-knowing, The Wise. Indeed, we are truly in need of God constantly & require complete dependency on Him [The Most-High] alone.

Under the examination of microbiology in health science, there has been a study of concerning factors with a definitive cause & effect of sickness in human body consisting of living microorganisms in our bodies which takes shape in a form of bacterial germs. And, sometimes depending on the external influences from the environment determines the effects that occurs internally endangering our health physically. Therefore, there is a natural alert response from antibodies as the alarming agents playing a vital counteractive role against components causing harm. Thus, medicine carrying elemental properties as the reagent substantial for recovering from any sickness relative the body. Truly, human body & its mechanism is from the wisdom of The Almighty [The Fashioner] who has created us from the earthly material carrying the matters of physics. Our framework is different from the rest of the creation. From the favors bestowed upon human beings which distinct us from other species is the mystical element. For God has breathed onto the souls His [The Producer] created spirit [light] that naturally resonates with humanity towards a higher power from which all source of goodness is inclined to. All praise & sovereignty belongs to Him [The Exalted] alone.

Anything not visible to the naked eye does not negate the certainty of the fact of the existence of microscopic living & non-living organisms unknown to mankind before the age of enlightenment & teleological advancement in the field of science. Thus, the realm of supernatural existence and the unseen is from the creation of God, which is most certainly not farfetched to pay heed to. Regardless, whether we believe or not, these are from the realities of existence that can be perceived to have been all along the course of origin of life and its elements on earth. However, God knows best, while we know not. He [The Exalted] does not require our rationale for having faith in Him. He is The Truth irrespective of using analogy to comprehend and reach the state of conviction of His religion. Surely it is us who are truly in need of Him [The Exalted], and not otherwise. Human psyche and behavioral science are linked to packet of energy carrying both positive & negative elements which emanates from their heart: the ground for ego, the self and conscience of the sons of Adam (God’s blessings & peace be upon him). The inward potentiality of the soul consisting of the mystery unlocked by those who are conscious of God. Hence, drawn to angelic & purity from the likes of attributes of God. However, natural disposition of mankind is to be tentative & heedless due to the distractions of this material world. Mostly, the lower self takes command driven by ego because of free will shared mutually by human beings and jinn’s (the supernatural being). On the contrary, Satan & his army of evil is the real enemy. Adamant on spreading mischief, deviance to lead mankind astray from their true purpose, and in committing transgression against themselves through manipulation and deception. The whispers of evil towards human beings, is like the notion of the thought process in human mind, beseeching the self ego to grapple with animalistic instincts. Slowly influencing spiritual laxity if not balanced by affirmation of the guidance needed for awakening the soul to counterbalance. For truly, this is attained through the remembrance of God and in submitting the will to divine decree eliminating ourselves from impurities by inclining to the fulfilling our true purpose in this temporal abode. An example of this, with a metaphorical analogy in relation to physics, would be of a photon carrying transverse wave through packets of energy in an electromagnetic field. Also, an atom consists of inner nuclei which contains nucleus (neutral) and protons (positively charged) surrounded by external component of outer shells bearing electrons (negatively charged). Verily, we belong to God and to Him do we return.

From one of the Hadith from Sahih Muslim [authentic book of the chain of narration of Prophetic saying & tradition],

Nu’man b. Bashir (Allah be pleased with him), One of the companions of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), reported:

I heard Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as having said this (and Nu’man) pointed towards his ears with his fingers): What is lawful is evident and what is unlawful is evident, and in between them are the things doubtful which many people do not know. So, he who guards against doubtful things keeps his religion and honour blameless, and he who indulges in doubtful things indulges in fact in unlawful things, just as a shepherd who pastures his animals round a preserve will soon pasture them in it. Beware, every king has a preserve, and the things God his declared unlawful are His preserves. Beware, in the body there is a piece of flesh; if it is sound, the whole body is sound and if it is corrupt the whole body is corrupt, and hearken it is the heart.

The religion of God will remain perpetual. The DNA of humans are linked to common ancestry making us children of Adam (God’s peace & blessings be upon him). On a secular base, humanity functions on the values of ethical & unethical principles mutually inclusive to rest with all of mankind. However, humankind & jinn’s (supernatural beings) errs in the process of maintaining the correctness of being compliant through the methods of keeping sincerity in faith. Victimized by the evils which leads to transgression against themselves with recurrence of vandalizing & negating the faultiness of their traits. As the phrase goes, by John Dalberg-Acton, a British historian & politician:

“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely…”

Such is the case mostly prompted in the position of authority due to greed, gluttony, boastfulness, envy, pride, arrogance & self-entitlement. These elements are from the innate disposition of human corporeality. In a commotion of mechanical state of living tendencies with untamed egos, the human heart is the driving force of enlivening its spiritual state for keeping in check with the self. However, the reality is that human beings had always failed to preserve the consciousness of God & the set of religious laws for humanity binding with the divinity. This was truly ever successfully established as a force of religious establishment, along with relative to the secular aspect, carrying its populous significance in the philosophy of political science recognized by human beings over 1400+ years ago through the seal of all prophets: the last appointed messenger of God on this earth, Muhammad (May God’s peace & blessing be unto them), sent as the mercy towards all creation perfecting of God’s [The Exalted] religion (Islam). Assimilating as the complete holistic reform in constructing of the just & peaceful socio-politico economic system for humanity. Next to, bringing the entire population around the world under the umbrella of true monotheism. As well as the formation of harmonious union between the creation and The Creator in binding with The Quran [noninterchangeable word of God] remaining intact as a proof to all mankind. This is from the miracles of our beloved prophet, the seal of prophethood & messengership (May God blessings & peace be unto all of them). However, the task for the Muslims is to keep themselves on this path to true success and affirm steadfastness towards righteousness. And, allow the continuation of spreading this beautiful way of life towards goodness by welcoming others in humanity with open invitation to accepting the faith (Islam). This can truly be accomplished by starting with us reverting back to with the tenants of faith, Quran and the Sunnah [living example from the life of our prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)], and cling on to it. Take lessons for motivation and inspiration by the fine representative (True ambassadors of Islam & righteous predecessors), throughout history, who accompanied in pioneering integral methods of implementing social justice and peace encompassing micro (personal embodiment) and macro (social advocate) level.

Secrets of subconsciousness unraveling in the alternative theme.
Perhaps a Deja vu, recurrence in dreams; relishing in a mysterious familiarity which is in omittance from actuality.
A parallel identification that makes it surreal, yet so real.

Amidst all the noise in the ecosystem of the terrestrial,
Be sound internally while it is loud outside over irrelevance subjectivity over dominion.
In many forms, physically & metaphysically, yielding as ideals for apprehension.

Wordplay, play of words, not of action in this miserly world.
And if actions do speak louder than words

Its pivot puts risk of disintegration in chivalry

If self-serving ego is favorable at a price value of material gain.

Dangerous only when consumed by the appeal of affluence

Resulting in decaying of spiritual dependency and subservience to divine decree.
There are many actors playing the role of a protagonist.
Intelligence as artificial as the means ends analysis.
Common sense deluded by perverse desire

Cannot suffice for just means when it lacks God consciousness.
Disrupt of balance by the opportunists with cancer autonomy lacking self-awareness.

Demoralizing the vulnerable with injustice.

Manipulative design by the conniving for the cunning,

At the expense of humanity at loss.

Implicit inequity ruled as systematic error.

Culprits of division,
Whose seeds of ambition was sowed by the devil to begin with

Creating schemes for demise.

Jealousy & arrogance root of disarray,

Misleading benefactor towards disbelieve

Satan knew better but turned disobedient due to it.

Man was never the enemy to another of his kind.

It is the evil that is menace to society,

Where arrogance prevail,

And humility does not serve purpose.

Also, why self-righteousness can be a disease too

Because of the similar reason.

The cure for its spiritual ailments is in the effort through excellence in purification

In the remembrance of God Almighty alone,

and always returning to Him [The Exalted].

Only thing which carries the weight is sincerity in the deed.

Indeed, victorious will be the ones who struggled fighting their way against their demons.

Innate nature of man is prone to sin,

And is never in perfection.

Yet, laying rest in the matter of choice and the difference between the default or standard.

Establishing steadfastness & forbearance in submission of The Absolute Truth

Matter of an equilibrium deal
Set between time & space continuum.
Similarly, to that of a pendulum
Clock ticking away through the mechanism of the physical realm.
Being alarmed to awaken or snooze

sets apart those who fulfil the covenant with The Truth,

And those who reject faith.

Rise up towards the spiritual enlightenment
Three-dimensional ultimatum of Mind, Body & Soul.
Allowing the innermost being to channel on higher vibration.

In doing so, should the soul awaken and surrender the lower selves to the Creator.

Consonance Oscillation

Consonance Oscillation

The sun rises once again.

After nightfall,

As the day begins to rejuvenate us.

Awestruck by the momentous wake,

Bittersweet like the farewell & greeting of seasons.

Autumn leaves that start to fall dry.

Leaves compelling views of nature,

A scenic complexion,

Before the earth becomes barren.

Yet, still finds itself restored in due time.

Such is the poetry,

In the cycle of life.

Time is either for or against us.

And though nothing is ever the same,

There is always goodness in it for His servants anyway,

Like the hidden gems,

Waiting for those too discover

Who attest by having faith in Him alone.

Striding along their way to The Infinite Good.

Oh, how wonderful is the Lord of the Universe.

The Producer of all that is between the Heavens & the Earth.

The Guardian of all worlds,

Seen & the unseen.

The Fashioner of all things,

Living or non-living.

So, which of the favors of God would you deny?

Into the bliss

Come, let us draw away from this bewilderness,

Into the harmony of love to relish in.

Only God knows best.

If not now,

then so shall it be.

Fear can only hold back which hope sets free.

Sentiment on Pilgrimage

The ritual of pilgrimage (Hajj) for the believers in Islam,

Fulfilling the rites of worship,

Among the pillars of faith.

The foundation deeper than walking on the surface of a holy sanctuary.

May His [The Most Benevolent] blessings & peace be upon those who came before paving the path which leads straight,

and the ones following their footsteps.

In remembrance of a deity none other than the One & Only, The Most Magnificent.

Altogether, standing shoulder to shoulder as equal by His [The Exalted] grace.

Shrouded in a piece of white cloth,

Identified as those who stand by their covenant with The King of Absolute Sovereignty (Malik Al-Mulk).

Doing circles (tawaf) around the house of God (Allah) glorifying The Creator of all creation.

Submitting to The Truth (Al-Haqq),

Reminder of the significance in unionship that binds each other to oneness.

A state of transcending ourselves in the spiritual nearness to our Maker.

Rectifying in purification through the cleansing of souls.

A traveler’s journey not limited only to the ones visiting the sacred lands.

But with every heartbeat that remains is an opportunity for the believers to step towards reaching the station.

Although we are prone to sinning due to the natural disposition.

Yet, the precious are the ones who return to Him in sincerity.

Spiritual enlightenment through revival of the faith (Iman) by performing the pilgrimage of the self (Nafs).

In full submission to the Master of our fate.

Seeking goodness (khayr) & an exceptional love that is heartfelt above all.

For the sake of attaining His [The Most Gracious] pleasure in this temporary abode and the one which lasts forever.

Making sure the return to Him [The Most Merciful] is in the state which deems in elevation among the highest ranks in the hereafter (Akhira). Amen.
